TetraPak drypoint printmaking workshop
This workshop can be booked on demand for a group of 2 to 3 people in my studio. Please contact me to arrange a date.
Three hour workshop, £39 per person.
Venue: My home workshop studio, just outside Stanley, County Durham
This workshop is an introduction to drypoint printmaking, which is an intaglio printmaking method that involves scratching an image into a plate with a pointed tool. These scratched lines create a burr that holds ink, meaning that what you draw is what will print.
We will be re-purposing an empty TetraPak carton (food or drink carton), which allows for easy drawing into the plate with a sharp tool. We will be printing up the plate using a Sizzix Big Shot machine, so if you have one of these machines at home and would like to learn a new technique to use it with, then this will be a great technique to try.
This is a great workshop for playing and experimentation. The TetraPak surface creates interesting and characterful prints.
Please bring along several images no bigger than 10cm x 15cm to work with. See the photos for an idea of what kind of images work well.
Dress for mess and please remember your reading glasses if you need them!
The workshop takes place at my home workshop just outside Stanley, County Durham. It is a small workshop, so workshop classes are also small, which means you will receive plenty of individual attention. This workshop will need at least two people booked on it to go ahead.
Please note that my home workshop is accessed by stairs.
Hot drinks and cake will be served during the workshop, please let me know of any dietary requirements when you book.
