Lino Printed Cotton Tote Bag Workshop

Three hour workshop, £35 per person.
Venue: My home workshop, just outside Stanley, County Durham
This workshop can be booked on demand for a group of 2 to 3 people in my workshop, or for larger groups, such as art and craft groups, at your own venue. Please contact me to arrange a date.

In this workshop we’ll first carve a lino cut stamp in order to print up a cotton tote bag with it. We’ll go through everything you need in order to print on to fabric, from type of lino cut design to the ink we use. My method of fabric lino printing uses different inks and printing techniques to lino printing on paper, so even if you have done lino printing before, this will be a new and fun technique to learn.

I will go over the tools and carving basics in this fabric printing workshop, so it is suitable for beginners. (If you would like an in depth look at lino printing on paper, then I recommended that you take my lino printing for beginners workshop.)

You’ll go home with a colourful cotton bag, printed on both sides, and will be able to use the knowledge you’ve learned to print up and create your own patterned fabric.

All tools and materials are provided, just bring yourself! We’ll be using plenty of blockprinting ink in this workshop, so please either wear an apron or old clothes. Of course, hot drinks and cake will be provided too.

The workshop is held in the workshop in my own home, just outside Stanley, County Durham. Please note: access to my home involves stairs.

There will be a maximum number of three people on the workshop, so you will receive plenty of individual attention and tuition.
