Venue: Crafts for Wellbeing studio, Stanley
This workshop is inspired by the German tradition of the Ostereierbaum (Easter egg tree – trees decorated with colourful Easter eggs), that I loved seeing and creating when I lived in Germany back in the 1990s. On this workshop you’ll learn the techniques of metal embossing to make a double sided Easter egg ornament. You can start a tradition of an Easter egg tree of your own, or simply hang it up on the wall or in a window.
In the workshop we’ll learn about the tools and materials used and will go through some simple metal embossing techniques to begin. Then we’ll move on to creating your Easter egg design and will emboss it in metal.
The final part will be to assemble the decoration and then add an aging effect and colour to finish your ornament.
This workshop is suitable for beginners.
The workshop takes place at my home workshop just outside Stanley, County Durham. It is a small workshop, so workshop classes are also small, which means you will receive plenty of individual attention. This workshop will need at least two people booked on it to go ahead.
Please note that my home workshop is accessed by stairs.
Hot drinks and cake will be served during the workshop, please let me know of any dietary requirements when you book.
