Student showcase: introduction to lino printing workshop
Yesterday I had two lovely beginner lino printers on my introduction to lino printing workshop, who as you can see, created beautiful lino prints!
We started off the day by going through the tools and materials, and then worked on a test piece of lino, just to get used to using the tools and trying out a variety of marks. We then went on to carving a couple of small pieces to look at positive and negative mark making and to see how it would affect the final print. Then we moved on to creating our final piece.
Once this was carved I showed them how to create plain one colour lino prints, and then we moved on to creating a two colour lino print, using a gradient background.
It was a lovely day with two enthusiastic students, and I absolutely loved what they created, well done both of you!
