Student showcase: Sketch and stroll at Breathing Space

Last Thursday I was back at Breathing Space in Witton Gilbert to run a ‘sketch and stroll’ workshop. The workshop was designed specifically for beginners and for those who say they ‘can’t draw’!

Thankfully, although it was a bit breezy, the weather did behave itself and we even had some sunshine.

We started off with a few simple drawing exercises in the church, and then made our way outside to sit in the wooded area and all sketched a tree together. I then showed everyone how to tackle drawings more complicated scenes, like the church. After that, everyone was free to go their own way and find subjects that interested them, with me walking around everyone to see how they were getting on, and giving advice when needed.

It was a lovely afternoon and you can see from the photos above that everyone really enjoyed themselves and took really well to sketching. Fabulous work, everyone!
