A fun take on the formal Celtic knotwork techniques, this workshop is aimed at creating flowing shapes and turning them in to non-traditional interlaced knotwork. No previous drawing experience is necessary – this is a really fun and simple technique!

Based on the unders and overs of a formal Celtic knot, you will learn the simple technique to create a flowing interlaced motif and then will learn some techniques to create a decorative background.

We can work on abstract knotwork, monograms and loose floral designs.

Once you have created your unique design, we’ll use the water soluble properties of brush pens to colour the piece and add shading with pencils.

This is a fun and relaxed workshop using a really simple technique to create pieces with lots of impact.

The workshop is held in the workshop studio in my own home, just outside Stanley, County Durham. Please note: access to my home involves stairs.

There is a maximum number of four people on the workshop, so you will receive plenty of individual attention and tuition. Why not join up with some friends and spend a creative day together?

Suitable for beginners.
