Finished craft project: Metal Embossed House Number
When you need a new house number and you can emboss metal… well, you have to make a metal embossed house number!
I made our new house number out of copper. As we are both Celtic artists, I chose one of my Celtic knotwork designs for the border to represent ourselves. You can see from the photos above that the design starts off by being transferred to a flat sheet of copper and then is gradually embossed until the embossing reaches the required height. The design is then textured, aged and protected before it is ready to go up on the wall.
I’m really pleased with the result and it is now proudly displayed on our studio workshop, welcoming all of our workshop guests!
If you would like to learn how to make your own metal embossed house number, then come along to my workshop on how to do just that!
