Student showcase: lino printed cotton tote bags

I had a very enjoyable and inky afternoon with two lovely ladies yesterday, who created lino printed cotton tote bags.

We went through all the tools and materials and then carved a sample piece of lino in order to get used to the everything and they then went on to carve two lino blocks each.

I then showed them the method of traditional lino printing on paper, and then on to fabric, so that they could see how my lino printing on fabric technique differs from that of traditional printing, which enables you to get multi-coloured prints.

They both made really beautiful carvings and colourful bags – brilliant work, both of you!
