Student showcase: metal embossed Japanese stab bound sketchbooks

After a break for most of January, the first of this year’s workshops took place in my studio yesterday.

A fabulous group made their own sketchbooks, which involved creating their designs, metal embossing the covers, covering the book board and binding the watercolour paper and covers together. It was a lovely, enthusiastic group and there was a great atmosphere in the studio as everyone got creative.

As you can see from the photos they all created beautiful, personalised sketchbooks and they all had lovely plans for using them. Beautiful work, everyone!
