Student showcase: Sketch and stroll at Breathing Space
We had rain, hail and thunder during today’s ‘Sketch and Stroll’ at Breathing Space in Witton Gilbert, but we still managed to get plenty of sketching done!
The workshop was designed for absolute beginners to sketching. We started off by drawing blind contour and continuous line drawings of leaves that I had gathered from round my garden this morning. Then we moved on to doing a couple of timed sketches. The first downpour had passed by after we’d finished these warm up exercises, so we moved outside and worked on snap shots of scenes, zooming in on features that interested the participants.
Then the next downpour arrived, so it was back indoors to sketch some scenes around the church.
Despite the weather, absolutely brilliant work was created by all!
