Over the last few weeks my community art group have been having fun with paint and stitch.
Everyone started off by creating abstract pieces with acrylic paints, stencils and texture paste. Then everyone added stitching and a bit of collage to those backgrounds.
These are just a sample of the fantastic pieces everyone created. I always love how everyone starts off with the same brief and makes it their own. Beautiful work, everyone!

The students had already completed my lino printing for beginners workshop, so we got straight on to carving out our designs and then learned techniques for printing on fabric rather than paper. I was thrilled when the lovely Angela Reed of Creative Calligraphy invited me to teach her regular calligraphy groups how to draw simple Celtic knots as part of their Inspired by Lindisfarne project.
