Workshops: upcoming workshops with Breathing Space

Over the past couple of years I’ve been really lucky to work with Breathing Space in a fabulous health and wellbeing community project in Witton Gilbert. I always love teaching at Breathing Space, it is such a beautiful and relaxed venue and everyone is always so enthusiastic and friendly.

Coming up over the summer I will be delivering three workshops for Breathing Space. All of the workshops are free to book, but we would ask that you give a donation on the day in order to help keep the fantastic work that Breathing Space does going.

All the details of the three workshops are below, just click the buttons to book.

Suitable for beginners, this 3 hour workshop is named Mindful Messy Mandalas, as the whole aim of the workshop is to have fun, and enjoy being creative, rather than creating precise mandalas.

We’ll start off by creating the coloured backgrounds for our mandalas using acrylic paints. We’ll use a loose technique with acrylic paints, to create backgrounds with plenty of interest.

Once these are ready, I’ll take you through the process of drawing motifs and creating your mandalas. We’ll then have fun seeing where our drawings take us!

Suitable for beginners. Learn how to create two metal embossed coasters from aluminium.

We’ll go through the method of transferring the design to the aluminium, learning the techniques of metal embossing and how to add a finish to your coaster to make it look aged.

Each student will leave the workshop with two finished 10cm square metal coasters.

Chine collé is a fun lino printing technique, where we combine collage with lino printing.

On this workshop I’ll take you through the tools, materials and techniques needed for lino printing. We’ll then carve a floral design out of lino, and will print it up using the chine collé collage technique to make a set of unique lino prints.

The workshop is suitable for beginners.
