Demonstration Day: Georgian Gathering at Beamish Museum

This coming Saturday and Sunday, 15th and 16th July, I will be demonstrating wood block carving at the Georgian Gathering at Beamish Museum.

I will be in the Pockerley Old Hall area, cutting some wood blocks based on wood block designs created in the Georgian period by Thomas Bewick. The wood carving in the photo above is one of the carvings I will be bringing along with me. This carving is now finished, so you will be able to see it printed up, and I’ll also have several other ‘in progress’ carvings with me, so that you can watch the carving technique.
