Student Showcase: Six week lino printing course for beginners – week 1
This week I started teaching a six week lino printing course for beginners for a community wellbeing project in Durham.
We started off by learning all about the tools and materials that we use, and then worked on carving a simple floral lino print. We then printed this up, again, I gave plenty of hints and tips on how to get the best print.
I really love everyone’s floral prints, and as always happens, each participant added their own touch to the basic design, and brought out a little of their personality in the print.
I’m looking forward to week 2, where we’ll take both the carving and the printing up a notch!
