Student Showcase: six week lino printing course for beginners – week 3
Today was week 3 of a six week lino printing course for beginners for a community wellbeing project in Durham.
This week I gave everyone my sketch of a tree, and we worked on carving out our backgrounds and paying attention to the direction in which the backgrounds were carved out. As you can see from everyone’s different interpretations, the way in which the background is carved really makes a difference to the finished lino print, and you can definitely see each person’s individual style coming out now. We also played with creating these multi-coloured prints using just one block of lino.
Absolutely fantastic work, everyone, and I’m looking forward to seeing what you create next week!
If you would like to learn the art of lino printing, then why not take some time out for yourself and book on to my Introduction to Lino Printing workshop?
